Booking A Hotel – Advice From An Expert

July 15, 2010
Filed under: Travel — freetraffic @ 11:14 am

When you go on vacation the last thing that you want to have worry about is if you will have enough money to do anything because you spent all of your money on your accommodation. But, we have all had the same quandary; do we spend more money on a hotel room and have less fun or do we do the opposite? There are other options that will allow you to stay in a nice place and still have money left over to have fun. Continue reading on and you will discover some great ways to save money the next time you book a hotel room.

What Are You Looking For In A Hotel – The amenities and features that you expect from a hotel, will determine how much you will need to spend. Are you planning to spend a lot of time in your room, and therefore want extravagant accommodation, or will your room simply be a place to sleep and change clothes between adventures, and thus need only provide the basics? Locating the best deals on hotel rooms will also be made easier, if you can create a narrower search by stating whether you will require a restaurant at the hotel, an internet connection in the room, or an on site pool.

Find A Discount Or Deal – It is very popular for hotels to team up with a partner to offer a package deal. You can save quite a bit of money when you look for discounts like this. Keep in mind, though, that you should only choose a package deal if you will really benefit from it. This means that you should need all parts of the package. Look into the deal and see if it really will save you money. Do not just accept a deal because it sounds good.

Are There Discounts Offered Through Your Credit Card Company? – On occasion, hotel chains and major credit card companies form a partnership to encourage vacationing and business travel to a certain destination, and will offer discounts for travelers who pay with this company’s credit card. An example of this is if Visa and Hilton hotels agree to provide a reduced rate to Visa card users who book a stay at a Hilton hotel. Although this is not a widely known available discount, it can save you a substantial amount on your hotel stay.

Check Directly With The Hotel Or Hotel Chain Always remember to call your hotel of choice directly. If you call a hotel directly, often they will give you a better deal because they have to share a portion of their booking fees with online companies and they lose money. If your accommodation of choice is like the Embassy Suites, then make sure that you call the hotel’s local number because if you call the 800-number, you will likely get someone who is in another state. Making reservations through the hotel’s local number will not only give you better pricing options, but they will also be able to tell what local attractions will be hot during your stay.

Advice On Getting Yourself A Great Hotel Deal

July 4, 2010
Filed under: Travel — freetraffic @ 7:47 am

Prices that are advertised for hotel rooms are often very misleading. It is difficult to tell if you are looking at a good deal simply by looking at the advertised price. Before booking, you should always look further into the prices:

Location – If a hotel is located out of the way then you will need to factor in the extra travel costs that you will incur. If you have your own transport, then this is not such a big deal, though you will still be paying at least a bit extra for gas, but if you are relying on taxis and public transport then it is certainly something to consider. Ask about a free shuttle service too, as some hotels provide one whereas some do not.

Facilities – If two hotels are charging the same price for a room but one has, say a swimming pool and a gym, then that one is better value than the one without the extra facilities. Similarly, if you do not plan to use any extra facilities then staying in a hotel that has them will mean that you will probably be paying extra unnecessarily.

Hotel food – If you are planning on staying in a hotel for several days, chances are good that you might want to grab a meal in the hotel’s restaurant. Most hotel restaurants overcharge for the convenience of eating in the same building that you are staying in. The question is: How much is your hotel overcharging? When comparing two or more hotels, ask how much a simple meal such as a hamburger and fries costs. If the cost is over $12.00, you are being overcharged. That fact alone might help you decide which hotel is the better value.

Breakfast – Find out if breakfast is included in the price you pay and also what is included in the breakfast. Some hotels provide just coffee and toast for breakfast whereas others provide an ‘eat as much you want’ style buffet. If you are not planning to have breakfast, then ask if you can get a discount off of the advertised price.

Check out time – Different hotels have different check out times. Look into this before booking a room. You may not want to leave your room before 11am, noon or 1pm. If checkout is very early, see if you can negotiate a discount. If you get into the room very late the night before, see if you can get a later check out time. Hotels will sometimes compromise. Some hotels will also hold your luggage for you while you site see, either earlier than your check in time or later than your check out time.

European Holidays : Cities Not To Miss Out On

July 3, 2010
Filed under: Travel — freetraffic @ 4:00 am

So you are planning a trip to Europe? There are certain cities that are “must sees.” They are the location of world famous sites and landmarks, and offer a special insight into Europe’s myriad of cultures.

The beautiful Spanish city of Barcelona sits on the Mediterranean coast. As a consequence of it being the capital of the Catalan region of Spain, it has its own proud and unique history and culture, which sets it apart from the majority of Spain. Historically and and architecturally there is a lot of interest, from Roman ruins to spectacular churches. There are countless art galleries and museums to walk around and also a selection of beautiful, relaxing beaches. For sports fans, there is the opportunity to watch a game of football at the Camp Nou, which is home to what is widely agreed to be the best football team on the planet.

And finally, there’s Paris. Everyone knows that Paris is one of the most romantic cities in the world. It is also large and full of life. The center of Paris is home to many famous architectural sites including the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, and The Eiffel Tower. Much of Paris’ character comes from the River Seine which runs through the city. Paris is also the home of all sorts of secret city squares and hidden gardens. The most famous art museum in Paris is, of course, The Louvre but there are many, many others. And, of course, Paris is known for its restaurants and shopping.

And who would pass Venice by? Venice is a group of islands linked together by canals and is set in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It is a rich center of history as, at one time, it was one of the most powerful cities in Europe. This power was based on its merchant shipping and naval power. Venice flaunts its rich history in its fabulous architecture. Much important art of the Renaissance came out of Venice and it can still be visited in Venice today. You can travel through Venice by foot but who would leave Venice without partaking of a gondola trip?

London is, arguably, the most diverse city on the planet. More languages are spoken by its inhabitants than in any other city in the world and it is a real melting pot of cultures. There are a huge range of things to keep you entertained in London – theaters, museums, art galleries and famous buildings. You think that you can every major city has those, but what is on offer in London is a cut above what you will find elsewhere. It is a paradise for shoppers, music lovers and sports too. Whether it is designer clothes, live music or star filled sports teams you want, you will not be disappointed.

You should be able to find several indispensable facts about package holidays in the following paragraphs. If there’s at least one fact you didn’t know before, imagine the difference it might make.

Package holidays can save you money, as well. For example, if you book a package holiday to Africa, you can have the flight, accommodations, ground transportation, and other things such as guides and meals already taken care of. Package holidays are making a comeback as cash-strapped Britons cut the cost of trips abroad.

Package holidays are often seen as the cheapest way to travel. There is some truth in this, but not a lot. Package holidays for an affordable plastic surgery in Argentina are captivating people from Canada and pretty much the same as in the United Kingdom.

There are hotel rooms and 7 ground floor pool side rooms. All rooms are Air conditioned with Balcony and sea view, en-suite with bath and shower satellite TV, music TV, telephone, mini bar hairdryer, safety deposit boxes. Hotels have become increasingly popular in recent years. The number of overnight stays in summer cottages and bungalows also increased. Book direct flights and hotels at the site! Book a luxury package holiday for you in 2009. Booking cheap package holidays doesn’t have to be hard work. Put us to the test today with your holiday requirements.

The information about package holidays presented here will do one of two things: either it will reinforce what you know about package holidays or it will teach you something new. Both are good outcomes.

Travel agents sell packages to consumers, which are generally put together beforehand by a tour operator. A travel agent is the person who acts as agent by selling or offering to sell to, or purchase overseas travel on behalf of, the public on a commission basis. Travel agents vented their spleen and the trade magazine devoted pages to letters. Some complained that cutting costs this way is ‘immoral’. Cyprus travel packages include coach package holidays and self-drive package holidays.

ABTA has reported that bookings are moving away from the Eurozone, bookings to Egypt are reported to be up 38% and to Turkey 32%. ABTA, the Travel Association, found visitor numbers had risen 32% in the past 12 months. This trend is predicted to continue in 2009, and Turkey will be sure to take trade from Greece, its nearest Eurozone rival for the British tourist pound. ABTA does hold bonds for tour operators who sell non-flight based package holidays and will pay out on claims for these types of holidays. However, many people no longer buy Cyprus package holidays and financial protection law is complicated.

Dubai is famous for its towering skylines, fabulous tax-free designer shopping and gorgeous beaches. But there’s more to this city than just bling. Dubai holidays are popular for many reasons but summing it all up, the combination of year-round glorious weather and the sheer number of things to do appeals to so many different people raising the bar for exciting holiday destinations. Without a doubt, shopping remains the biggest magnet for holiday makers and is some of the best in the world.

Use A Travel Agent To Find Your Dream Cruise

May 4, 2009

By Stevie

When you think about travel, what do you think of first? Which aspects of travel are important, which are essential, and which ones can you take or leave? You be the judge.

Travel agents, since they are expert in this field, can present you with a number of options of cheap holiday places as well as flights. In fact, they are familiar with the tricks of this trade and thus can help you find the best possible travelling options within your budget. Travel agents have to keep themselves up to date if they are going to be able to compete for your business. Travel agents can also help you save money on flight, hotel rooms, cruises, and more; but what about online travel agencies? While people worry that Internet travel agencies could scam you or provide low-quality service, there are actually a number of benefits to choosing an online travel agency, providing that you pick the right one.

Travel agents sell 87 percent of cruises, 81 percent of all tours and packages, 51 percent of all airline tickets, 47 percent of all hotels and 45 percent of all car rentals. Travel agents do not have to thoroughly investigate suppliers. In general, they are required only to stay current with reasonably available information, such as what is in trade journals and magazines. Travel agents are a God-send when you have not travelled to a destination in some time. Particularly, an agent who specializes in destinations that interest you.

Travel agents will confer with an array of both published and Internet sources for information on airline and hotel accommodations. The agent must be able to get the best possible arrival and departure times of airlines that meet the needs of the client. Travel agents had suspended sale of tickets of the two airlines on December 29. Travel agents can have knowledge of the area as well as such things as transportation, accommodations, and hospitality issues.

Those of you not familiar with the latest on travel now have at least a basic understanding. But there’s more to come.

Ask the agent to give you specifics about how she can help with your trip. Ask friends for recommendations — eventually someone will offer a glowing recommendation of an agent. Remember that different agents will have different expertise. Ask your agent about the nitty-gritty details of your trip, including airport connections, bus and taxi services, tipping, foreign currency conversion, and safety concerns such as government-issued travel advisories and warnings. Most important, get a phone number that you can use for after-hours emergencies (at the airport early Sunday morning after your wedding, for instance) and on your trip, preferably toll-free, or collect if calling from outside the country.

Travel agents generally work regular hours and spend most of their time at a desk. Hours may be longer during holiday and vacation seasons. Travel agents inform consumers about the price, availability and other details of various travel options and make reservations and sell tickets to the travellers for the travel services they choose.

Students learn the basic skills needed to operate a computer reservation system. This program consists of two modules including a travel career development module and an interactive reservation system module. Students participating in this program usually arrange their stay in the United States through a recruiting agency that has been accredited by the U.S. The fees charged by travel agents vary significantly.
