2009 saw a really bad year for vacation bookings and this was of course down to the fact the recession was running very strong indeed and it put a lot of people out of jobs which meant of course that there was no way they were going to be able to afford to go away. On the other hand more and more people chose to stick to having a vacation in their own country so local tourism was up simply because of this.

Major destinations such as Orlando, Florida saw a massive decrease in the amount of people visiting the theme parks last year because of this. This year is looking a lot better though which is great news for the industry. Thanks partly to the new Harry Potter section of Island Of Adventure in Orlando the visits are once again looking up which is always good.

Of course Florida is not the only place people actually care about and bookings have soared for things like Barbados holidays and India holidays which is great. People are finally realising that they have the money to go away now and are getting out of the country this summer. Taking a vacation within the same country is going to help calm the stress of work a bit but to make the stress leave the body and mind altogether you will need to sit and watch the world go by on a stunning beach or sit around a lovely swimming pool. How can you really compare Barbados to Devon, well you really cannot?

There are so many hotel resorts that you could look into visiting too from discover bay by Rex resorts to some of the fantastic Hilton hotels and Disney hotels jotted around the world.

Do not just sit at home in your garden this summer when you have holiday to take, get out there and go on a real vacation!

If you are sitting around the home doing nothing at all then you are pretty much just wasting the vacation time that you have so you may as well be sat in the office typing away on your keyboard!
