Four hotels of this network appeared outside Great Britain: in Basel, Zurich, Budapest and Larnak. A room costs 20 euros per day, but additional services – using the Internet, TV viewing, change of bedclothes, room cleaning, leaving your luggage in the cloakroom – are payed separately. So, the tariff policy of the hotel can be characterized like: “the visitor pays only for what he uses”.
In the nearest future opening of such hotels in Berlin, Sofia, and Porto, and also in business region of Dubai is planned. It’s interesting that in 2009 the London architectural bureau ZMMA made new design of “easy Hotel” rooms. Opening 200 “easy Hotels” during 10 years is in plans of the network owner. Ten of them will be opened in Great Britain during next three years.
Business rival of the easy Hotel appeared practically at once. The owner of the “Yo!” restaurant network Simon Vudroff made his début in hotel industry with opening hotels in the airports. The first hotel, which he named “Yotel” was opened in London in July, 2007 and besides 32 comfortable suites of two categories – “standard” (7 sq.) and “premium” (10 sq.) were offered to visitors unusual for hotels, but convenient for transit passengers tariffs. So, minimum term of room reservation is four hours, if you need more, hourly pay is used. Day of habitation in a room of category “premium” will cost you nearly 80 pounds sterling.
The success of the new hotel network gives rise to ambitious plans of its founder: he wants to make “Yotel” a part of every large airport on all continents. And, of course, it will be very comfortable for unpretentious tourists.
